Introduction
Sporty Honda with Acura badging... I owned the Type S variant replete with body kit.

Exterior Styling - 9
Lack of HID option or at least projection lenses diminishes the look of the car, along with the lack of standard fog lamps.

Interior Styling - 10
Loved the looks of the interior, including the instrument lighting.

Exterior Build/Materials Quality - 10
No complaints here.

Interior Build/Materials Quality - 10
Never had an issue with anything on the interior.

Engine Performance - 9
Felt quick, but had to be driven hard/high revs to get all the juice out of the motor which ended up making it seem like it was working too hard.

Handling/Braking - 9
Pretty good, a bit too much body roll for a Type S variant in my opinion, maybe you just get what you pay for considering the cars base price.

Fuel Efficiency - 10
Seemed to be good, don't recall it being poor. Seems like Premium gas may not be necessary, as I don't believe the current Civic Si, which has the same motor as the RSX Type S, requires it.

Available Features/Options - 6
The limited options are both a blessing and a burden.
No Aux Jack
No Navigation Option
No One Touch Moonroof
Poor Bass Response and Power from Bose Sound System
No HID Headlight Option

Cost of Ownership - 10
Very reasonable, thanks Honda/Acura! Oil changes only required every 10k miles. No timing belt to replace.

Value - 8
Could have been better packaged with a few more goodies or options made available. Take a look at the Mazda 3, it offers many of the options I mentioned, although it lacks the safety ratings and performance. The MazdaSpeed 3 is a non-Premium Product that may seem more upscale to some than the RSX Type S. The current Civic Si is a much better buy, and was at one point (2006) sold at the same time, go figure...

Conclusion
Acura/Honda could have done more to make this vehicle feel more like a Premium Product. As far as reliability goes, it was bullet proof during the time I used it and abused it.
