Introduction
Wow, the S4 is beautiful. It doesn't dazzle with sexy style- but it captures your senses with its timeless elegance and perfect proportions. And then there's the engine... wow. The handling isn't sports-car good, but it's good enough. But any handling shortcomings are made up for by the engine. Cruising with the top down at 6000RPM is my favorite time with this car. The exhaust is perfectly tuned. The seats are super-comfortable and supportive. The interior is built to the highest standard and does everything I need it to do. It has a rear seat that can fit REAL PEOPLE. I love this car!

Exterior Styling - 9
Beautifully finished. It looks fantastic with the top down. The front-end is its best view; I wish it had quad exhausts at the rear, though.
Interior Styling - 9
It takes the handsome A4 interior to the next level- "S4" badging on the gauges and steering wheel, black piping on the white seats, elegantly contrasted interior colors. It needs a better navigation system, though. This is addressed on the new A4/A5.
Exterior Build/Materials Quality - 10
Not a single panel gap to report.
Interior Build/Materials Quality - 10
Need I explain?
Engine Performance - 10
Superb engine. Amazing passing power at any speed. Perfect for cruising.
Handling/Braking - 9
Stop-on-a-dime brakes. Handling isn't on par with the M3, but it's good enough for me.
Fuel Efficiency - 7
Not this car's strong point. But what can I expect from a V8?
Available Features/Options - 10
This car has a ton of standard features and options.
Cost of Ownership - 9
Gas prices are the only thing keeping me from giving it a "10" here.
Value - 10
There are many much more expensive (and less expensive) convertibles... but none offers such a unique combination of all-weather usability, four-person seating, eight-cylinder performance and guaranteed exclusivity. All for $65K, well-equipped!
Conclusion
After more than two years, the S4 has been rock-solid reliable and puts a smile on my face every day. I can look at all of the new 500hp cars coming out and wish I had them, but one drive in the Cabriolet brings me back to reality: 344hp is so much more than enough. The engine is nearly perfect, it still looks great and I don't see myself selling it any time soon. The best car I've ever owned.
