Introduction
We traded our Lexus RX330 in for an X5 4.8i almost three weeks ago. I love the thing. Excellent performance, elegant lines, beautiful interior, all the tech toys available except for the HUD and active steering. I can now drive my wife's car with pride. The problems? Well, both of them are in reverse, which says something about BMW's focus: the backup camera sucks and the park sensors are incessantly annoying. That's it, though.

Exterior Styling - 10
Hot SUV, even without the 20" rims

Interior Styling - 10
Best interior in any BMW, when equipped with the full leather

Exterior Build/Materials Quality - 9
Paint gets very dirty in Chicago winter... I knew that when we ordered "Deep Green," though

Interior Build/Materials Quality - 10
Perfect!

Engine Performance - 10
Smooth, responsive, awesome exhaust note

Handling/Braking - 10
The handling is world-class

Fuel Efficiency - 7
Not the 4.8i's strong point

Available Features/Options - 10
Huge options list, for better of for worse

Cost of Ownership - 9
WIth the exception of the gas bills, I don't see any huge bills in the X5's future... yes, that includes monthly finance rates

Value - 10
Offers everything the Range Rover has for $20K less, plus performance. An excellent choice for any luxury car buyer, even for someone who has a sedan

Conclusion
So much better than the RX!
