Introduction
I know nobody really gives half a damn about the ol' X5 anymore, but really, why do they? I drove one for the first time this weekend and one word I could use to describe it would be 'brilliance'.

Exterior Styling - 10
Overally pretty good. Nothing wrong here.

Interior Styling - 10
Very good design that is better than any other BMW's interior styling, bar maybe the 3-Series.

Exterior Build/Materials Quality - 10
Like those little features that make a great difference.

Interior Build/Materials Quality - 10
Very good quality leather and interior woods.

Engine Performance - 10
Very quick for a car its weight and size.

Handling/Braking - 10
Quite quick to come to a halt.

Fuel Efficiency - 10
Pretty good for a 3.0 litre 6-cylinder.

Available Features/Options - 10
You'll be lost in the optional extras booklet.

Cost of Ownership - 10
Apart from the occasional vehicle service, pretty good and easy to insure.

Value - 10
It is cheaper than the Cayenne, better than the Cayenne, better-looking than the Cayenne, and people don't laugh at how dicky you look if you have a dent in the car if you're in the X5; if you are in the Cayenne, you'll never hear the end of it.

Conclusion
The X5 is the best SUV ever manufactured. It beats the rubbish Cayenne and try-hard Range Rover any day, any time. Excellence.
