Ownership Status: I use to own this vehicle.
Recommendation: I recommend this vehicle.

Overall Rating: 85/100

Pros
  • - On-board computer
  • - Instrument cluster is set out well
  • - Power
  • - Leather seats feel very comfortable
  • - Supercharged engine
Cons
  • - Occasionally I found that if the day was a hot day, the engine would make a strange noise and the accelerator would not work.
  • - Overall, the 3-Series is better ...
  • - A supercharged engine still doesn't make it get to 0-100 in less than 8.9 seconds.

Introduction
This vehicle is actually a 2004 MY03 C180 Kompressor, however I could not find the C180 Kompressor in the list. CUBANITE SILVER/BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR/WALNUT TRIM Options/extras to this vehicle: - Avantgarde package - 17in CLK-Class rims - Sunroof - Metallic paint - Automatic gearbox

Exterior Styling - 9
Do not like the not-clear headlights, prefer Bi-Xenon a lot more. But from a distance away it does look like a S-Class from the rear and partially side on.

Interior Styling - 7
I think that a trim should come as standard on the interior door and you should not have to option for one. Do not like the pre-W203 refresh instrument cluster set up as much as the refresh. Like the design of the seats.

Exterior Build/Materials Quality - 8
More 'exotic' colours like the beiges (including the Cubanite Silver), blues and others like them do fade after a few years, but not too much.

Interior Build/Materials Quality - 10
Feels great and the leather is pretty good. It does not look 'plasticky'.

Engine Performance - 6
I hate the sounds it makes when the day is warm. Supercharger makes it sound supercharged not drive like it is supercharged.

Handling/Braking - 10
I was driving at about 70km/h and a new S-Class in front of me that was travelling at around 55km/h suddenly braked. I instantly put my foot down and I nearly flew out the windshield, probably only because I had the seat belt on.

Fuel Efficiency - 9
It is meant to do under 10 litres per 100km, however I accidentally flicked over to another screen in the on-board computer and noticed it was doing 12.3 litres per 100km!

Available Features/Options - 10
Anything that comes out of Germany has more options than standards. The sunroof is overpriced, the metallic paint is strangely 3 grand and the only option worth your money is the Avantgarde package.

Cost of Ownership - 7
I've had a few scratches in it that you don't notice (maybe somebody has been swiping their keys along the car) but it is pretty good, especially the fact it costs about nothing to insure!

Value - 9
9.5/10 - It has pretty good value, the only thing is that the supercharger doesn't do much. Very good car - don't bother upgrading to the new one if you have done less than 40,000km.

Conclusion
The C180 Kompressor W203 does lack pure excellence in comparison to the 3-Series E90, however I would take this C180 over a new Audi A4 (not brand new one, current model being offered), BMW E46 and a Lexus IS any day. But the car is stil twenty generations away in style and luxury if it wanted to reach the W204 or the E90.
