MINI of San Diego - San Diego, CA

Nothing was wrong with my car prior to visiting this dealership, but for the sake of taking good care of my vehicle I needed an oil change. Problem is I made the mistake of taking my car into this location for something as simple as an oil change. I drove my car straight back home after this service.

The VERY NEXT DAY the engine light comes on my car. I took it back to the dealership to question what they had done. Once you open the hood of the car you could see there was oil every where! They explained how there was an oil leak and that all my spark plugs and coils needed to be replaced. Total cost for fixing everything was over $1,000. I was pissed! What a coincidence that this was not caused by them (so they told me) yet the issue was oil related. I argued enough to where they dropped the price down and fixed it for as low as $350.

This time the car took 4 days for it to be fixed. Prior to leaving the dealership I decided to check under the hood. No oil issues that I could see, but my coolant tank looked low. I mentioned this to the service department employee, but was told it wasn't anything to be concerned with. I thought I could trust them and drove the car straight home. To be safe I added coolant to the tank as soon as I parked it.

A few days pass and I decided to drive the car. I got less then a mile and my engine starts to overheat. I pulled over to I check under the hood. There was now no coolant at all in the tank. Meaning there must be a leak.

This time I decided to take my car to a different location/shop to be inspected. Turns out there was a major leak under the car from the coolant and also an oil leak. This tells me that the dealership never fixed the issue that I paid them for and caused me an additional problem in the act. So now it was going to cost me in additional $1,000 to fix both issues.

Once addressing this issue to the dealership they tried every excuse in saying that they weren't at fault and even blaming me for the problems, "You must have driven it too much." Once again another coincidence leaving them for service and more issues to my car arising.
Don't trust this location! Either their staff doesn't know how to properly work on mini's or they are intentionally causing issues to your car when you bring it in for service.
