Burien Toyota - Burien, WA

We found a vehicle on the cars, com website. Because we were coming from Tacoma and had already been to 4 different dealerships only to find that the vehicles we wanted to see were "sold", we called ahead of time to confirm the vehicle was there. Dawnelle (sp?) is who we talked to and she got our name and said to come on up giving us directions, etc. Due to construction, traffic, etc., took over an hour to get there.
Greeted right away and asked for Dawnelle. The gentleman (can’t recall his name) checked and came back with a manager, Kelly Stewart, and said she was not available but he could help us. Told him what truck we had talked to her about and he said that he would see where it was at. Then we all walked outside and he said it was on a different lot due to construction so he would get a car and take us to it. Waited about 10-15 minutes outside while he went in to find keys to a vehicle to take us down there. Finally went down to the lot near the service/detailing area. He walked around, asked a few people that were detailing vehicles and came back to us saying he wasn’t sure where it was. Then after a bit said that they located it but still needed the keys. Finally came back and said, “Well, I’m not sure what happened” but that we could go back to the showroom to see what was going on. He apologized to us saying he came in “in the middle” and we just said that we drove up from Tacoma specifically to see this truck and he said he understood. After going back to the showroom, he said he found it but it was still being serviced. Got back in the car and went back down only to find that it was not the truck we had seen on cars.com. He said that there had probably been a misprint. He also said that we wouldn’t be able to drive it because it hadn’t had the service check. Once again it was back in the car to go to the showroom. The salesman said something about “quicksand” that neither one of us understood. At this point we had been there for well over an hour and had not seen the vehicle that was advertised.
We waited in the showroom again and after another 10 minutes at least, Kelly Stewart came over with the salesman, pulling a chair up next to my husband and did not even look at me. In my book that is disrespectful. I started by asking why a vehicle would be listed on the internet if we couldn’t even test drive it yet. He said that as soon as they get a vehicle, it automatically goes on there. I said that I am familiar with the business working for a leasing company and when we get vehicles and they go into our system, we don’t let them go “live” until they are literally ready for purchase. I said something like that would have stopped us from making the drive up since we couldn’t even test drive it to see if we liked it. He said that he would let us drive it now….and at that point we were done and the vehicle wasn’t even the one that we wanted. His response was, “well ma’am, someone will like it”. We also questioned the listing because the picture was not even the correct model and it was deceiving. He said that when a vehicle goes on cars.com and they don’t have a picture yet, they put a “stock” photo. Why wouldn’t they post a stock picture of the correct model?? Just an all-around horrific experience and we told Kelly Stewart that this was by far the worst attempted car buying experience we had ever had. We thanked the other salesman for his time and left.

We had just moved to the area and was needing to purchase a truck and I really didn't have a dealership like we dealt with where we use to live so I pulled in to the dealership to look around and to make a long story short the salesman that I finally dealt with named Vance did an excellent job in helping me through the purchase process. Vance was very informative and he listened to what we were looking for and was not just making a sale but he did his best to understand our needs. Good job Vance in helping me get my F150 Platinum
