2008 BMW 135i
BMW's new 135i draws inspiration from its iconic 2002 models of some 40 years ago. The next BMW legend, the 1 Series Coupe, represents the core BMW philosophies of pure performance and premium design. By combining sporty rear-wheel-drive dynamics, agile handling, powerful engines and seating for four, the 1 Series Coupe reinvents the niche that the legendary BMW 2002 created. Read Article

Me to, I don't like it yet and probably never will (blame that methodist Bangle who thinks he is clever but at the same time admits that his designs aren't photogenic..tosser)

I got used to it too. It really doesn't look as bad as say...the 5-Series.

The 5 series IMO is one of the best looking cars out there. I saw a facelifted version in black today. All I can say is awesome.

The looks have grown on me quite a bit as well. In my opinion, this looks much better than the new E92 model 335 which lacks any sort of character whatsoever. A vanilla BMW the E92 is.

It is so weird that now I like the E90 more than the E92 because it used to be the other way around. After 2-3 years of hating the E90 sedan, it is now one of my favourite BMWs. How strange...

This is the spiritual successor to the E46 M3, and when it comes out, it will be a tuner's wet dream. I can see it now, in the parking lot, midnight black, tinted windows, all black 18"-19" wheels 10 inches wide in the back, with wheel flares....ladies and gentleman, this will be the new import tuner's car.

It's the spiritual successor to the 2002 Turbo is my opinion.. it had 170-180 horsepower for its time and was pretty damn fast. Exactly the same as the 135i Coupe.

"For the 135i Coupe, acceleration from 0-60 mph is accomplished in 5.2 seconds"

It will be faster than a E46 M3.

The 335i is said to be faster than the E46 M3, what would you expect from this baby monster?

The heat problem was because some of the early production models did not have a second oil cooler. Now the 2nd cooler is standard (at least for MT and AT with sports pak and paddles). So heat is not an issue.

Vishnu is getting tons of positive buzz. I hear you though, I would love to see a Dinan black box.

^^I wouldn't trust the Vishnu kit yet, I know there are some that might have it, but with the 335i (don't you have the kit), having problems with the oil getting hot, how would it fair with almost 400 ponies? If Alpina, AC Shnitzer, or Active Autowerke has a kit, I would turst them more, because they are known for quality...And have been doing the super/turbor-charging thing with better and more reliable results than any in the bizness. Remember if something is too good to be true, it usually is...

Currently the best kit for the 335i is the one from Hartge. 370 hp and LSD.

The next BMW legend...pure performance...premium design.

Where do you guys come up with this hyperbole? The only thing missing was magic feel and soul.

This si not 2002. It's an ugly little car with a big engine. Anyone can do that. (Although I will admit the convertible, if priced right, would be tempting.)

first of all, it's a sharp little car and will likely be incredibly quick given its power to weight ratio. sure to be great handling too. what would you buy instead for $25k? a celica?

and the 'article' was a press release so of course the language is overdone.

Isnt it pathetic that it took this long? All 'premium' cars should have that standard. With a society so concerned with safety, this option should be more common. I have them on my car and will never go back to halogen.

CommonSense, how much is it putting out? And do they have a LSD for it? It doesn't make sense to have 350 HP and 350 pounds of torque with no LSD...THat is why I said the AC Shcnitzer, Dinan, Active Autowerke, or Alpina did the kit it would be better, they probably would have done a LSD. A ECU piggyback does solve that problem. What is power, with no control?

I thought this car was going to be for fuel economy...seems it will only be slightly better than the 335 using the same engine in a lighter package.

Cant see the pictures. Anyone have a different link to some?

^^you have to be joking about Hyundai being the pursuit of Perfection...The cars are still "throw away" cars, just slight better than they were 10 years ago.

CommonSense, I agree with you on many points.
