2008 Chevrolet Malibu
Hitting showrooms sometime in 2007 is Chevy's all-new 2008 Malibu. Chevy says this dual-port front end is the new face of Chevrolet, so get used to it. From the rear, the new Malibu looks like a cross between an Infiniti M35/M45 and a Buick Lucerne, despite the integration of Chevrolet's trademark twin-round taillights.

It look like a ford fusion from the side, and rhe front looks like it came of a truck.

The lines of the front and interior look very similar to the Acura TL.

I can clearly see that GM has a will to change.

GM will be back!

Nice design, but truly do get rid of the ugly Chevrolet badge. So lets see, this is nice in and out, but its scary to be considered because of what it is, a Chevy. Will it compete with Toyota/Honda? Hell no it won't. When it comes out, the quality will be the same bad as before, reliability, don't even go there. This is ONLY a fresh look to the Malibu, it won't break through anything.

So you have some inside informationas to the quality ofthis car? It a shame hat there are so many like you out there who think just becaue it says Ford, Chevy or Dodge that it's garbage. I have owned 5 American cars over the past 9 years and I have not had a problem wih one of them. Never owned a Chevy though.

Thank you for telling everyone that you know nothing about cars. What is shameful is promoting bad quality product and giving a bad name to the American product. So if you prefer the current quality of American cars, then trust me, America is ashamed by you. If you love America like I do, then my friend fix the garbage so all of us would be proud of it and don't be a blind like you sound like. So please, get out of your house and see the world so you know what we're talking about here.

Designer1, you reveal yourself as the ignorant one.

Since there is no reliability data for a vehicle that has not been released, then you cannot suggest what the reliability or quality will be. Moreover, define these terms in an intelligent manner and then we'll have something to discuss. Just because the badge doesn't match the one on your car doesn't mean it's not superior to what you drive today, or what that same company built yesterday. Please grow up.

When i viewed the prototype 2008 Malibu, i was very impressed at the attention to detail and the quality materials used inside the car. Let's hope Chevy carries it all into production.

moto, I hope not just GM fixes its garbage, but the other two as well. But when you look at someone's history or resume and you see it all full of crap, its hard to believe the nice picture they're drawn will be any good, we hope it would be, but its hard to believe.

As far as ingnorance my smart friend, you need to know one thing. If you want a company to succeed you have to get tough on it so it would truly succeed, and not see a nice looking plate and you start dreaming of success. The "big" 3 have been in this business for so long, there is not a single product they've produced that was a true engineering marvel in any of their times. The only ones that promoted their products were those that knew nothing BUT the "big" 3 products, someone like you.

When YOU grow up, and you see what the other companies that came WAY after the "big" 3 are producing, then and ONLY then your eyes will open up and feel sorry for your country's product and you start to strive to make it better.

So, do you still see me ignorant that I care the MOST and most sinsere about my country's product to be as good and even better than the others? or those that are like yourself, to brag from nothing and not see the mistakes and just carry on.

Believe me my friend, this is a very deep subject and with all due respect, but I don't think someone like you will ever get it, so why waste my time discussing it with you. But, words posted on this site and others DO get to the big guys at the "big" 3, and my hope is for them to get the message and start correcting things so THEN, I would come up and start saying good things about their product.

And again I'll say to you, wait and see when this product comes out and it will fail, its a feeling that I have and I hope its wrong this time, but I haven't been wrong before. :-)

Yes. I too hate that grille and believe that the Chevrolet logo should be updated and made more symmetrical. Right now the logo appears to slant to the right because of the parallel left and right sides of the logo chopped away at an angle. The only logos I would not change at GM are the Cadillac and GMC truck logos.

Front end looks pretty creative
Back end looks like warped G35 Sedan
Interior looks like a better version of the 90's and 2000's Mustang interior.

Overall im not too impressed, but it is an improvement comparing GMs to GMs

As I said before GM and Ford are finally seeing the light when it comes to dealing with the UAW/medical costs and trying to work with the US Gov't to get relief so they can be more competitive. Their Japanese counterparts do not have to worry about retirees medical costs because the Japanese Gov't covers it. US Auto companies could not place more $$$ into developement because of high cost of other factors not auto-related.

GM and Ford alone pays $95 Billion a year on Retiree medical costs!!! So in the past US auto tried to push out autos with the least amount of overhead...thus cheap interiors and less inspiring designs.

This car looks ok, except for the nose. I can't put my finger on it, but something looks awkward about it.
