Another month passes, and the auto industry registers another round of advancing sales, with Kelley Blue Book reporting a 12 percent increase in September. “September car and truck sales generally are coming in above forecasts, boosted by continued unleashing of pent-up demand, supported by underlying strength in the economy and continued cheap, available credit, says Michelle Krebs, senior analyst for Autotrader. “Indeed, many models are in sell-down mode to make way for their replacements, and therefore are being heavily discounted.  Still, incentives, while up some, aren’t outsized, as average transaction prices overall continue to be solid.”
