Let's be straightforward. Lotus, in recent time, has been on an interesting ride. It hasn't been smooth sailing entirely but now it appears that things could be looking up. This is good because things weren't looking so hot lately.

Thankfully, a 100 million British Pound investment by DRB-HICOM, the infamous U.K.-based automaker will ensure operations continue. And, even better news, the automaker will add 100 jobs in its engineering and manufacturing organizations.

Although the ousted CEO, Danny Bahar, was planning on introducing a new fleet of products, it looks like those plans have been shot down in lieu of something more realistic.

I hate to say it but I remember having an encounter with a product specialist/booth babe at one of the shows. While chatting with my buddies I said something along of the Esprit concept being gorgeous but will never see the light of day. She interjected saying "No, it will definitely be built." Even though I injected some reality into the conversation by mentioning Lotus' dire financial straights, she insisted it would be produced. Well, I guess I won that round.

Anyhow, congratulations on the investment, Lotus! And good luck!
