Here we go, news that you can actually use.



The motorist's rights group, The National Motorists Association, has come together with a ranking of the states/regions where you are most likely to receive a ticket.

Although the ranking is not based upon the statistics of how many tickets were given out, the organization yielded its results in a much more intriguing way.

What? Did you think the municipalities would release their information? C'mon...

The 4th of July is one of the busiest traffic days of the year and nothing can ruin a vacation more quickly than an undeserved traffic ticket.


Information on how many traffic tickets are issued in each state is hard to come by because most localities -- especially ticket-happy speed trap towns -- are reluctant to publicize their ticketing prowess.

That means that getting drivers the information they need to protect themselves from unjust tickets requires a little creativity...

Unjust..?

I hate speeding penalties as much as the next guy.. but "unjust".. sorry but if the speed limit is set... and you go over it... then you are breaking the law... to view it any other way is just moronic.

Like it or not speed limits are the law, the above table just shows which states are better at catching lawbreakers!

If you don't want to get caught, don't speed, simples!

According to the law, the speed limit is supposed to be set to a rate where 95 percent of all drivers are driving under it. But instead, they set the limit way too low in most areas to increase the potential for revenue generation by traffic enforcement. The public is supposed to decide what is a safe speed, not the bean counters downtown.

I have to agree with @Kornholio.

Most of the speed limits are under pace.

For example, my boro has a two mile long, straight road where it SHOULD be a 35, instead the village has it marked 25 and insists on camping police officials to nab anyone doing 10 over.

Additionally, if the town's were as preoccupied with safety, they would not allow driver's to take a higher fine with zero points as opposed to a fine and some points.

The thing is is doesn't matter whether you agree with it, the fact it is it is the law! and if you choose to break it, you have to take it like a man.

I'm not preaching by the way, in the UK way of doing things I got up to 9 points once... thats one minor speeding offence off a ban.. do'h

I live in BC,Canada and I am a commuter, On my commute there are many so called construction zones with speed limits of 50 mph,80kmph everyone drives at 110kmph, including me, unless there is actually construction, witch is 1 out of 50 times travelling that road, second our speed limits have to be adjusted to reality, you sound like a brainwashed cop, I have seen this process first hand, they love to mold young minds to collect $$, at the same time cops see every bad accident, there are a lot of very stupid people out there, Fundraising on our streets is wrong,we are a democracy right! We have to stop these injustices and correct these ridiculous tickets, a sheriff friend of mine says that you stand a very good chance of getting a ticket if you drive just 1mph over the limit, in Washington, they are at nu 17, I would hate to drive at no1, the most brain washed cops that can't think for them selves, I want to make a documentary about these un realistic speed limits and how our gov. is fundraising. I will make sure to record the most out spoken asshole cop speeding and try to get his hypocritical response.

I'm not surprised that Florida is top of this list. Local municipalities have been using ticket money to pad the dockets for years. Now the state is stepping in and and getting a chunk of the pie with this new red light camera law. I can't even go out for a joyride anymore without being harassed by some lowlife hypocrite cop. And with the state and local budgets the way they are, the fuzz is getting even harsher with the tickets. Just imagine the morning meeting: "We need to bring in $5000 today or somebody is gettin let go at the end of the month".

I live in florida and often travel throughout the state. I don't have a radar detector and I average about 5 miles an hour over the speed limit. On the highway I may push it a little more to keep with the flow of traffic. My last speeding ticket was about 10 years ago. I deserved it. I was flying down I-95 in miami. Just don't stand out in the crowd and Florida flows nicely.

radar dector (or radar jammer) plus the laser jammer = speeding at least 15MPH without ever getting caught. those two devices have already paid for themselves in the years i've owned them.

I say if you get caught breaking the law, whether you agree with the law or not... take it like a man and don't bitch about it.

I'm sure most peadophiles would argue that they disagree with the law when they get caught too....

s1000rrman, where do you find the correlation between pedophiles and speeders? You have to be a cop, even on your day off you still feel that you have to control our thoughts on speeding, take some time off and relax, have you ever thought that the limits could be set too slow? You never speed? But that is ok right because you did the two week driving course.
