In the world of large, luxury sport sedans, the competition's been getting fierce.

With cars on the market like the BMW M6 Gran Coupe and Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, it's amazing the kind of power and luxury you can get these days.

Of course, it all comes at a price.

Sure, Audi offers the S8 but if you're looking for more than 520 horsepower then you'll have some work to do. 520 is insignificant when compared to the likes of the M6 and S63.

That's what must have given ABT the idea to pump the S8 up to a staggering 640 horsepower. That's two more than the C6 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1!

The Bavarian sports-car limo is based upon the new Audi S8, which means that its basic version is certainly no weakling either. The 4.0 TFSI in its serial version has 520 hp (382 kW). The ABT Sportsline engineers came up with an uprating of over 20 per cent, which is really quite something: the ABT POWERed ABT S8 has 640 hp or 471 kW. The ABT S8 has a very sophisticated way of showing how very powerful it is. Its torque of 780 Nm (serial version: 650 Nm) doesn’t only make him cope with many situations, it is also always on top of any situation - just as a real super sports-car should be.

The car’s acceleration is quite impressive indeed. (Don’t forget that it weighs almost 2t.) To get from naught to 100 km/h, the ABT AS8 only needs about four seconds. In fourth gear, it needs 2.8 seconds to get from 60 to 100 km/h. In fifth gear, the ABT sports limo only needs 3.5 seconds to get from 80 to 120 km/h. Equally impressive is how the Bavarian flagship gets from naught to 200 km/h, which only takes it a little more than 13 seconds. The luxury ABT sports-car has an electronically limited top speed of 290 km/h.
