An arrest warrant has been issued for UAW Vice President General Holiefield after his wife was shot at their home in Harrison Township last month in an incident authorities initially believed to be an accident.

Sheriff's officials brought the case forward to the Macomb County Prosecutor's office on Tuesday. The warrant was signed Thursday, according to Lt. John Michalke, spokesman for the sheriff’s department. Holiefield, who was not in police custody Friday, faces a charge of reckless use of a firearm. The crime is a misdemeanor and carries up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine.
