Go Q7!
They're all hot trucks, though. Wouldn't mind owning any of them.

its kinda obvious about who would win just by reading the first sentence
"Audi Bild put these three luxury performance SUVs head to head"
audi bild...its audi...of course they're gonna choose the q7. im not saying q7 is worst than the other two but im just saying that its not a fair comparison cuz its a audi mag

It's actually Auto Bild. That was a typing error on chewy's part. There's no "Audi Bild" magazine.

Supposed to be Auto Bild, a popular German magazine.

Out of these three I would go with the Q7 but the new Cayenne is appealing. Not sure about the new X5. It doesn't look bad, but I am not sure about the interior or the third row.

but which one would you like to own? come on, no one buys the high end Audi how many V8's you see tooling around (very few according to sales mix) and the same for the Bimmer - real world, people who buy the Porsche are paying up for the V8 while the other two have much more appeal to the V6 and badge value set. Ask someone ponying up $70k+ for one which they would rather drive...the Audi come on?

X5, Cayenne, Q7. Q7 seems like a family SUV.

So what is Left? LR3?
GO Q7~ I Like the new X5 too but the interior..... is a joke, so cheap looking (almost MDX level)!!
Tho our family just bought the GL,
I am awaiting for the V 12 Q7 to arrive and maybe trade it in for the V12 Q7 Tdi.

The Q7 should be compared to the GL and Range Rover. Since the Q7 shares an extended platform from the Cayenne, I wouldn't have compared the two. But based on pricing - the two would have to be cross-shopped.
And if I wanted the best SUV built in the US, I'd probably purchase the GL over the Escalade.

Your rear suspension will break through in the middle of the highway, leaving you stranded. THAT's how horrible LR reliability is these days.

What happened to the Range Rover Sport and the ML 500??? Put some competition in there.

X5 for me. Reasons:
1.Best looking out of all three IMO, VERY SPORTY LOOKING.
2.Interior just as good as the Q7, anyone who says anything else didnt sit in it in real.
3.Refined engine with lots of power.
4.Great handling for a vehicle this size.
5.Practical, with the new 3rd row option (even if it doesnt fit adults)
Anyway everyone has a different opinion, and this is mine.

Just looked again at a Q7 this past Sat. although it looked nice from the outside, I couldn't get beyond the Berber carpet they use in that thing. In tan it looked ridiculously cheap, my wife thought I was crazy for even looking at one. So let down, I wanted to buy it just on the exterior.

Mercedes has the same carpet in the ML's, and Porsche has a similar carpet as well.

was the X5 weighted down or something? I have personally driven all 3 on a race course. The Audi is not as quick as the X5. I will say that the Audi and the BMW sound awesome, when someone steps into the pedal. The performance time of 7.3 seconds is about 1 full second slower than anyother test I have seen done or BMW Brochuere.

The X5 looks the most athletic out of the three, I agree. I never could get over the almost-minivan shape of the Q7, even though it's interior is unmatched, as usual.

I my self have had an advantage of riding in all three of these wonderful SUV's. I would personally say that the X5 was the most comfortable. The Q7's interior was rally upscale, but the rear seat was quite narrow (as a largge young man I need lots of space to comforable accomodate myself - im 5'10)
The Cayenne is almost in a different time zone compared to the other two, and I doubt it will sell much!

Love all three... but probably wouldn't get a Cayenne.
X5- useless third row, superb handling, great looks
Q7- useful third row, RR Sport-slaying performance, great looks
It all comes down to... do you want a three-row SUV or a two-row SUV?
