Abandoning? lol. The only FWD BMW's will be under the 1 series badge, and if the new 1 series compactive sport tourer is anything to go by, they will be quite nice! And technically the 1 CPT is AWD with electric going to the rear.

..and the times change. BMW was the last independent car manufacture to not offer FWD. All other maker who make only awd/rwd are owned by another manufacture. If they need to make a few fwd cars to stay independent...then im all for it. especially if they are as nice as the 1 CST concept. Also BMW has had turbo cars since 1972. Porsche is the only other german maker to have made a turbo engine earlier.
