BMW CS concept to become the M7?
Hyper-Saloon concept: Good news, they're about to go bananas again is the story tagline.

And as the teaser of the new look of AutoCar magazine, they give everyone a glimpse of a potential new horse in the stall...

Interesting how they are claiming the CS is the M7 but our sources say the production version will be an entirely new model like the CLS Mercedes?

We're sure the next 7 will have design elements fro this but to say this is it makes us wonder.

If anyone has the full story details, dial us in to what they are saying...

Thanks to Cdoke for the pic heads up!

Interesting.

BTW, I had this wierd thought that the new 7 series will share some design elements from the CS concept, and it may be true. I just cant wait. Time for the S65 to resign for the new M7.

And for the first time in a LONG time...WE LIKE IT!

"We believe the new CS concept gives us a glimpse into the future of ALL next generation BMW car designs..."

Will BMW continue to let Chris Bangle screw up the next generation with such hideous design?

Chris Bangle had done enough harm to BMW with the cheap looking interiors and the stupid i-drive. It's really about time to hire a new guy for some fresh ideas.

Sadly i wish this was true but I cant agree. BMW is a company just like any other. Even they would dilute their M-brand products for additional profits. I dont think this will be it but I do think one can be expected in the next 3-5 years.

Ahem...

"And as the teaser of the new look of AutoCar magazine, they give everyone a glimpse of a potential new horse in the stall...

Or is it just their take on where the new CS will go?"

I don't know if I get you right, but given which image you used and what you have said I gather you may have missed the "gallery" button to the right there. By clicking on the little gallery button, and by going to their website ytou find the car on the front of that magazine IS the CS concept.

Hey don't bother everyone with your logic, reasoning, and intelligence.

Thank you very much.

It is the next logical thing, and it will happen.
M53R,

You are absolutely correct about the F01/02 7 series sharing some of the design cues from the CS concept.

That would be so assume if the M7 concept is revealed soon. The Alpina B7 just arrive state side. I thought BMW would hold off on the release of the M7 concept. But, hey why not BMW has alot of momentum right now. I have two words for BMW M GmbH 'Bring It'.

SOO... I can't help but wonder if BMW is going to pull a fast one on us again by saying "ohh, but the new 7-series is going to be much more evolutionary" and then in 2009, KAPOW! A production sedan that looks like this? I would like it... But I'm not sure the majority of 7-buyers would...

Unless they can make the next generation 7 series significantly lighter, I don't think we will see an M7. A mega horsepower barge with no handling prowess is just not an M car. The E60 M5 is pretty hefty in its own right, the M6 only slightly lighter, but my 745 weighs in at well over two tons. I would love to see them make a lighter, more nimble 7 series in 09, and IMO thats the only hope you will have of seeing an M7 produced. Since a 760 STARTS at 120K before options, I can't imagine the price of an M7, just give me a Continental GT and call me a poser.....

This got to be one of the ugliest concept I have ever seen. Even hyundai concept are looking better than this one; this thing is just hideous....................

And please don't compare this piece of shit to the beauty and elegant design of the MB CLS. I'm not a MB fan but I like to gave credit it deserve.

I don't think BMW was ever about beauty and elegance. I believe they go for a more aggressive and sporty look.

This is the worse example of a top line BMW concept since the atrocious X-Coupe several years ago. That rear fender "hip" should never have seen the light of day. Was this car designed by an art school intern? Certainly they didn't pay anyone to design this beast, did they?

"Lexus" is so right!!!! this is hideous piece crap compared to beautifulgorgeousunbelievable LS600HL!!! BMW will NEVER be able to compete with LEXUS! the LEXUS GODS rule all!!!!!!!!!!!! the LS600HL probably has 47,059hp, because LEXUS, being so modest, always underestimates their horsepower ratings!!!! it will blow the bmw 730d out of the water!!! and the seats are more comfortable than those in the Mmercedesbenz S350!!!!! not to mention the Quality and Reliability!!!!!!!!

Mmm... Lexus...

Obiously can't be an M7 unless it replaces the 7-Series which it won't do

I think BMW will do an M7 someday. That day will come when they can make a 7 series do the Nürburgring in 8 minutes without compromising the comfort of the 7, while keeping the cost under ~150k, which I think is doable. For a powerplant, all they need to do is extend the M5's V10 into V12 form to make ~600 hp. Add in some carbon fiber to lighten things up and you've got a winner. This would go head to head with a S65 AMG.

amazinBimmer, what dope are you smoking?

BMW's naming nomenclature is even numbers for two doors, and odd numbers for four, with the three series as an exception that handles both.

8-series would be a two door, just like it was 10 years ago.

Hey even a child knows that in the luxury line, the one is MB+AMG so stop dreaming. They will do a great job for as good as the one that Merc did with the C63 to match the M3 but it won't be the real thing. MB Rules the luxury line.
