While details were a bit vague, we reported back in January that BMW is preparing their South Carolina assembly line to build the X6.

But today, CEO, Norbet Reithofer officially confirmed with Forbes that one of the two new models, the BMW X6, will be built at its Spartanburg plant in South Carolina.

He told Forbes that production level is expected to be at more than 200,000 unites per year. The new BMW X6 will join the Z4 roadster and the X5 in Spartanburg. The BMW X6 will have a sportier design and alignment, and will be way more aggressive than the BMW X5. Expect it to hit dealerships in early 2008.
