BMW is recalling certain Model Year 2009 Z4 30i and 35i

We have just learned that BMW issued a recall of some 2009 BMW Z4 models, both variants: sDrive35i and sDrive30i.

The recall notice doesn’t specify how many vehicles have been recalled, but it mentions the reason: a defective crimp connected in a belt tensioner wiring plug.

The defective connector may lead to increased electrical resistance of that connection which could cause the seat belt tensioner to fail deploying in a crash.

A similar recall was issued last month for some 2008 1 Series and 3 Series models.

They need to recall that thing. It's way too heavy, and there is literally a FOOT of dead space between the front bodywork, and the radiator. Why?

I don't think it's that hard to figure out -- it's for weight distribution. Wheels pushed out to the corners, all the heavy stuff in the middle. Perhaps you would prefer heavy things like an engine and radiator filled with coolant be pushed all the way forward so the car is as nose heavy as possible?

Every major manufacturer does recalls every now and then, when you are manufacturing such a high volume of vehicles it's hard to guarantee 100% workmanship on every single product you produce. At least they recall the vehicles.

I'm liking what's going on. All the automakers have finally began recalling their vehicles right when the problem is confirmed harmful.

lol I hope that guy who won a new Bimmer Z4 by hitting his golf ball into the hole by first hitting another ball doesn't get involved in any accidents.
