BMW to launch 335xi Sedan in March
BMW intends to launch an all-wheel-drive version of the 335i sedan in March 2007, according to a posting on the BMW Military Sales website.

"We are expecting the launch of one of the best sports sedans in the compact luxury market," the company said. "With a new improved 3.0 liter twin turbocharged in-line 6 cylinder cast aluminium engine block producing a whopping 300 hp & 300lb-ft of torque this car takes driving to a whole other level. The engine may have got even more powerful but dont expect an increase in fuel costs as BMW have worked very hard to keep it similar to it’s 2006 predecessor, making it all pleasure and no pain."

Keep dreaming.

The faster car isn't always "better", especially when it comes to sports sedans where balance is the key. The IS isn't balanced as well as the 3-Series.

So zip it, Toyota_Dude!

But the 335i is faster than the IS350. Check Car and Driver. So, by your own logic, the 335i is faster and therefore the better car.

This is welcome news. But you can't get a sport suspension on an BMW with AWD (the axle won't allow it, or something). I wonder if they're going to fix this. (Just take a look at the height of any BMW sedan with AWD... it's higher than the sport package models. You can get a "sport package" with AWD but it's just the seats and tires.)

How do u know LEXUS IS is not balanced. It's a myth.
LEXUS copying designs and have crappy handling is a myth.
and whom do u think have a better balance in the IS's class.LEXUS IS if not the alone leader but on par with 3 series in the whole driving experience.go try one.

And what to dream.

Jugnu,

Every magazine review I have read says that the IS doesn't come as close to the 3-Series in the handling department. Handling is what makes a sport sedan, not so much power relatively speaking.

Here, an exceprt from Motor Trend's when they reviewed the 330i vs IS350 vs C350.

'Compared with the ride of both German cars, the IS's bordered on harsh, transmitting every nook and cranny in the pavement, leading us to believe the sport suspension had been tuned more for track purposes than for public roads.'

My point is that while the BMW 3-Series might not be the most comfortable ride out there, it handles better and seems to have the better suspension setup than the Lexus IS. The 330i in this comparison even had the sport package.

This isn't a slam against Lexus BTW. I always need to put up a disclaimer because your friends (Will, Nicehomer etc.) think that a negative comment about Lexus is a slamming against them...

The BMW 3 sells way more than the IS. I'm sorry but thats how it is. Just look at the sales numbers. The A4's interior is better than the IS. The BMW 3 is the most fun to drive in its class, while has no soul.

I meant the Lexus had no soul.

And yes, I know, sales don't necessarily determine how good a car is.
The BMW 3 does sell more than the IS, but I will agree, the interior of the IS comes close to the A4 and blows away the 3. Exterior isn't bad either.

However, I just don't consider the IS a true sports sedan. After all, a sports sedan should be sporty and engaging to drive.

Hah.
Civic?
Those are I admit, sporty compared to the Toyota,
But it is ugly IMO and doesn't have the "magic-feel" the Germans have.
