2014 will go down as the year of the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. They are the latest and greatest in terms of road cars that are enormously capable.
Would you call them daily drivers? I think you'd be hard pressed to do so, however, they are the best pieces of engineering that bring race car technology to the road. Expect this to trickle down into more common road cars down the road.
One thing that I don't believe anyone has really done is get them all together. Especially the Ferrari. With these absurdly priced machines, it's not surprising that all of the companies are cage-y about doing head-to-head comparisons. I guess I can understand it from their shoes, but it's a bit of a bummer for the number crunchers and car geeks.
Thankfully though, CAR got their hands on the Ferrari and McLaren to do some driving in the same conditions on the same roads.
