If you're in the market for something that can take a bit of a beating, has off-road capability and can comfortably seat four occupants, your choices aren't as great as you'd think. While there may be plenty of sport-utility vehicles and crossovers, it's hard to find some proper trucks these days.
We think we've pinpointed a couple of badass trucks that will almost certainly tackle any chore. The question is WHICH would you have and WHY?
In the blue corner sporting a Jeep badge, and is an automotive icon, we have the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. With four doors and an assload of utility, it's the go-to pick for those buyers looking to have some fun and not worry about their SUV's toughness. In recent years Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has done an outstanding job bringing this formerly Spartan truck into its own. Now it has a proper motor, a solid interior and it'll happily tackle whatever you throw at it.
In the red corner, equipped with an endless supply of luxury and a plethora of accoutrements, is the Land Rover Range Rover Sport. Also known for its outstanding off-road performance, the Land Rover doesn't have much to worry about in that department. Being that this is the Sport model it's a bit friendlier on the road than the Wrangler but, boy, it is expensive. Especially if you go with Supercharged route. While the Rover hasn't reached icon status, it's made a helluva impact with today's elite — it's the must-have product.
