With its RS line of performance vehicles, Audi offers some serious metal to challenge the likes of Mercedes AMG and BMW's M models. The trouble for American buyers is that few of those RS models are sold in the United States. But that's about to change. While the RS4, RS6 and TTRS are kept away from these shores, the RS5 coupe stands as the sole RS model available here. But Audi of America has just announced that it's about to get some company in the form of the RS5 Cabriolet.Read Article

RS7 will be shown in Detroit, do you mean SQ5? There should be a 360 hp 3.0 TFSI SQ5 for the US. Haven't heard of a Q5 RS yet.— chewy (View Profile)

The next M3/4 will not have AWD, but will be turbocharged. Also chewy, BMW implemented turbos in the early 70's long before Audi, and BMW was the 1st german car maker to have full turbo lineup...Audis having the RS performance division does make BMW M proud though!! — bmwm6 (View Profile)

BMW certainly forgot about 'em while every BMW fanboy preached purity of its NA engines and how the others were cheating with turbos. Even when the 335i showed up they claimed how M will stay pure, BMW turned on them so quickly they didn't even have time to make excuses. Wouldn't even care if there wasn't so much noise before and so quite about the topic before.— chewy (View Profile)

Fortunately, fanboys and BMW are different things, and car makers cannot see 20 years into the future lol. M doesn't need to make an excuse, BMW has a rich history with turbos, one of the most popular BMWs of all time the 2002ti..which was a turbo. Plus the turbo motors still rev high for a forced induction engine and sound good..have you heard the RS6?..It sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The 1M has been wildly popular, same with the M5's engine which is praised in every article for its crazy pulling power, and the next M3/4 looks to be a real beast from the spy photos. Also the M135i has been winning everything in Europe, and with that being the foundation for the M235i, and M2 it appears BMW M has some great drivers cars in the works. — bmwm6 (View Profile)

Chewy, it looks like it will a Q5-RS not an SQ5.If you look at the link below, it shows four new RS models for 2013. We know three of the cars are the RS5 convertible, RS6 Avant, and RS7 sedan. The fourth one is an SUV, which means that it's an RS version of the Q5 considering the Q7 is way too large for any RS treatment and the Q3 is way too small.http://www.complex.com/rides/2012/12/audi-is-dropping-four-new-rs-models-in-2013— GermanNut (View Profile)

I think it will be a Q3 RS as Audi showed a concept of it in China last year with the 2.5T.— chewy (View Profile)
