Last year the Nissan GT-R squared off with the likes of the BMW M5. It was an interesting showdown. Actually, no it wasn't. The BMW got eaten alive, predictably. The reality is that the Nissan's jaw-dropping technology paired with an all-wheel drivetrain really is tough to compete with.

Granted, BMW couldn't feel too bad and all — The GT-R is essentially in a class of its own with its supercar performance figures and I don't believe anyone would cross shop them.

BUT, what if the Germans came back with another super saloon? Well, Audi has with the creation of the RS6 Avant. Though I'd still say they aren't competitors, I will say that since the RS6 is equipped with all-wheel drive it should make things a bit more "appropriate."

Let's see how things shake out...


They both produce more than 500bhp, and they both offer supercar-rivalling pace. But can the big, practical Audi RS6 really outpace the breathtaking Nissan GT-R. Steve Sutcliffe hosts the battle.
