Although we don't like to think of AutoSpies as a place for classifieds, once and a while you have to alert folks of what's going on around the globe. Sometimes a car hits the market and your mouth just drops. That just happened.

That's because a Maserati MC12 just went up on the market. You know, the better version of the Ferrari Enzo. This particular vehicle is special for one reason and one reason only. While the other 54 built vehicles were painted white and blue, this is the ONLY MC12 that's black.

Good luck trying to find another one. ;)

Though a nearby resident has an MC12 I have yet to see one in the flesh. It could be because only 50 were available to the public — the other five were withheld. The fact it's essentially an Enzo with better aerodynamic modifications, which make the vehicle SIGNIFICANTLY larger in all directions — compare how big it is against one of the parking spaces in our cover shot — means it's one of the greatest supercars ever built.

That said, if you're intrigued, click "Read Article" below to check out more pictures of the black beauty. And if you're prepared to write a check for one, we'd guess it can be had for north of $1.5 million buckaroos.

This Car is much Longer and Wider than it's Enzo brother and has a Removable Roof Panel, Power Windows, Updated Interior and more. The Looks and Open Roof Design make it one of the Most Exciting Supercars in the World. This project benefited from the learning curve of the earlier Enzo and has many Aerodynamic Improvements. From Maserati: Unveiled at the 2004 Geneva motor show, it was a very exclusive mid-engine model originally intended to be hand-built in just 25 units, all of which sold-out before its launch. Due to the MC12's considerable success, immediately followed up with numerous victories in the FIA's GT1 class, a second batch of 25 cars was built in 2005.

Designed for high level road use, the MC12 exceeded 330 kmh at full throttle, sprinting from 0 to 100 kmh in just 3.8 seconds. The MC12 benefited from the Ferrari-Maserati Group's most advanced technologies and competition experience. Its naturally aspirated 6 litre V12 punched out 465 kW at 7500 rpm, yet offered absolutely excellent drivability, remaining exceptionally lively and fluid even at low engine speeds. An aluminum crankcase, titanium con-rods and extremely efficient four valve cylinder heads were all part of its design. Four gear-driven overhead camshafts provided perfect timing control. The unit was mated to Maserati's proven six-speed Cambiocorsa transmission, offering computerized gear selection. In Race mode, the system was mapped to deliver much faster gear changes and to activate the ASR.
