Facelifted Mercedes-Benz R Class details
The facelifted R-Class will be offered with RWD as standard in base versions, coinciding with a minor price drop to help spur on sales.

Mercedes will also be revising the current car’s styling and will also be introducing a new model with its 5.5L V8 engine. Inside, the car is expected to offer seating for up to seven passengers in some versions with the six-seater model set to remain. There’s no word on which engine options will be available with the RWD models but it’s likely the powertrains will remain the same as the 4MATIC AWD cars.

Oh puleeeze, tell you've seen dudes driving around in one of those pieces of crap.
Please, I am all ears. R class are queer, and who is their competitors?
Right, the X5, the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Allroad, all chick cars. And the R-class leads the pack!

Here in Irvine, Ca there are a lot of R-Class' on the road and they continue to sell well despite super unleaded at $3.67 a gallon.

Perhaps you're the one who are queer ever thought of that? just look at all your posts. Deboost after deboost. Look at yourself in the mirror. I bet you haven't even sat in an R-Class. I wasn't surprised that it was luxurious and awfully quiet in the car. As for the exterior styling there are better choices.

chick cars, right. If ANY CAR on the road is the ultimate chick car it is the fuggly RX and ES...and not only do chicks drive them, but the WORST STUPID chicks drive them...always holding up traffic in the #1 Lane and on the phone or playing with some stupid dog. BTW..same for Camry, RAV4, and CRV...THE worst drivers on the road.

R-class, another example of treating Ugliness as beauty.

Why don't they kill it already?

ITs not a bad vehicle and it seems to sell well her in Chicago. I rode in one the last time my car was in the shop. Its pretty nice on the inside. Design is subjective...So what if you don't like it someone does.

The R class is a very appealing vehicle to larger families who place emphasis on safety, comfort, AWD and brand image.

Judging a vehicle by its design is pretty narrow minded. The Toyota Camry for instance is a total flop when it comes to design, but it's a great car and it sells. Same deal with the R class. A great car, the design doesn't appeal to everyone but it has done reasonably well in Europe I believe.

I don't think it does particularly well here in Europe, but I think it does alright in the Middle East.

Thing is, the R class isn't even a bad car, or a bad idea. It was just poorly executed and is ugly.

I think if they just changed the headlights a bit it would be sleek. Make them more S class style. And perhaps no star on the grill.

I wonder when BMW's minivan will be here? This R class should be put out to pasture. There are some really cheap deals out there for them though.
