Follow-Up Test-2007 Hummer H2 SUT
If Paris Hilton married Paul Bunyan, the 2007 Hummer H2 SUT would be the perfect conveyance for the happy couple. Paris could still roll up to every Hollywood hotspot with her It Girl image preserved by the paparazzi-magnetic luxury truck. Paul could borrow the Hummer on the weekends, pack his pet blue ox Babe in the pickup bed and motor off to the wilderness for some off-roading and tree-chopping. And they would live happily ever after; that is, until the divorce a month later. Read Article

A car of this size and weight, and GM doesn't take any effort to install decent brakes. The same goes for ALL of their SUV, trucks and cars (except Corvette perhaps).

It really affects the credibility of GM Satefy plan.

*sarcasm alert*

It may only get 9.3 miles a gallon and emit 5 tons of pollution annually, but hey, it's still more environmentally friendly than the 50 mpg/ .3 ton-emitting Prius!

I used to like the H2 but these days its like staring at a big, old retired athlete whose time has come and gone. Kinda like Shaq. There are newer and better options now.

The only real Hummer is the H1. The H2 and H3 represent a disgusting rip-off of the Hummer name. If GM were to simply make a smaller version of the H1 and give it an aluminum body like the real H1 then I would accept the H2 and H3.

The Hummer is the worst car on the roads today.
Can't do anything well except be slow, ugly and drink.

I think you are only talking about the H2 and the H3. The real Hummer, the H1 has one of the best drivelines in the world except for maintenance issues associated with the geared hubs that I would eliminate from the civilian version if it ever enters the civilian market again. The H1 is inherently safe to drive because of its sheer size and fuel economy ain't half bad with the latest Duramax diesel. I am annoyed with government safety nazis who forced the civilian H1 to go with steel doors intead of keeping the vehicle all aluminum. I believe the manufacturer found it easier to fabricate a steel door with the mandatory steel safety bar welded inside the door -- a silly decision considering that the massive and high Hummer frame would save you in a side impact anyway. The H1 should last 15 to 20 years in ordinary civilian use; how's that for positive impact on life-cycle cost?

fuel economy ain't half bad?
3 mpg ain't bad?
The military needs Hummers, but no civilian needs any Hummer at all, there are far better cars out there.
