This week General Motors' Chevrolet division threw out a bombshell. It priced the all-new 2015 Corvette Z06.

Now, to give this context as to why it's a big deal, hear me out. When the Z06 Coupe was shown at the Detroit Auto Show and said to have over 600 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque, not only was everyone amazed, everyone was trying to figure out the economics behind the car.

And when we saw the Z06 Convertible drop the top in the Big Apple, it was very much the same feeling. So when GM announced the 650 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. torque figure everyone was thinking the car would retail with a base price of somewhere between $90-100,000 smackers. BUT to everyone's dismay, the base price will be $78,995 for the coupe and $83,995 for the rag top.

Having driven the Stingray, I can tell you the base car equipped with the Z51 package is good. Really good. In fact, I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Not the interior, not the graphical user interface. Zippo. So, I only can imagine the Z06 being stratospherically better. At least the C6 was.

This leads me to wonder: if I had $100,000 would I go for the Z06 or would I opt for something like a Porsche 911, Nissan GT-R, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, BMW M6, Audi R8 or Jaguar F-Type.

There's a lot of good cars at this rate, but, what would it be? What say YOU, Spies?
