In most 3rd world countries, many people rely on toyota, because they are cheap, affordable, part are commonplace and easy to fix. I'm not bagging on you or anything but everyone has to be honest with themselves that they get the work done. and in austrailia, the land cruiser is the only vehicle that can take on the dreadful outback. You can bring them to the most remote places on earth with them. They're pretty tough.

I'm not being a fanboy, but in lots of these places, toyota reigns in many 3rd world countries. Its the only way people can get around easily and affordable.

they don't interest me, maybe their sports cars and land cruiser,at least for me, but its hard for me to convince my relatives in burma that they shouldn't buy a toyota.

i don't know what Rosko2 does for living (i think maybe he is still a high school kid). Making a bold statement like that without any hard data to back up you claim will lead you to trouble.

thats what happens when you let americans build toyotas. none of these problems with reliability and so called lower grade interiors were an issue till we started designing and building them here. I am a die hard American but truth is truth.

I know, but for the most part, its cost effective to have them made here.

"In most 3rd world countries, many people rely on toyota, because they are cheap, affordable, part are commonplace and easy to fix."

These tend to be older Toyotas, which were very basic and reliable. You know what you also see over there, alot of old MBs due to the fact they were at one point, and again getting there, rock solid reliable vehicles.

I know. In some places though, parts for MB can be expensive and takes time to import. There are no dealer networks btw.

I doubt anyone outside of Germany even takes this seriously, if they've even heard of it. Since Honda is completely absent, this really is a joke.
Toyota may have ruled last year, but I still hadn't heard of ADAC.

4 of the top 5 aren't even built in Germany.
X3 - USA
A2 - Belgium
Mini - Oxford, UK (since when is it BMW Mini and not just Mini?)
Mazda3 - Japan

well, germany is the largest auto market in all of europe. so this matters very much in that market.

The X3 isn't built in the USA, its built in Austria. The A2 was built at Audi's Neckarsulm plant in Germany. I guess they put in BMW Mini to emphasise who manufactures it.

Actually, even though Rosko usually speaks rubbish, his comment was fairly true. Till now, people, especially in 3rd world countries as some of you like to call them, still precieve toyota as the quality leader. They still buy them based on their past reputation, while their quality is falling down. Their designs are failing to be creative, and competitors are going strong. I think its only a matter of time before their sales start to slip. Except ofcourse, if they wake up, and remember how they got on top from the 1st place.

This is the problem with this "Copy Everything" Forum. Besides the fact that 95% of articles from this Forum are copies of eGMCarTech and MotorAuthority they have to top it off by leaving off critical information while also adding childish "mine is better than yours" attitude.

The BMW X3 is a car that is not even made by BMW and its not even made in Germany. Its made by an Austrian coachbuilder. Since reliability measures how well a car is BUILT, then this is hardly a claim of success for BMW. Not a big deal, since BMWs are ok, but my point is that this forum is a joke until they decide to become a serious auto enthusiast website. As it is this forum is a gathering place for (mostly)frustrated, envious or arrogant, egocentric and immature idiots, including the Agents who seem to thrive on promoting anything but constructive automobile discussions.

True that the X3 is built by Magna-Steyr in Austria, but it is built using BMW engine's and components. Reliability, in my view, measures how well a cars mechanicals and electrical components stand up over time. Build quality determines how well a car is built.

So for all your comments ladies on this post...what you are "REALLY" trying to say, is that it took a company like Toyota to get the other companies especially the German makes for you german fanboys to actually distinguish what is "Benchmark"(Toyota) vs others(even German makes) that were being built ohh soo subpar. If you guys ride on these stats, remember "they did say Toyota was a leader on this stats board"...it just took a little ass slapping by Toyota to say "Hey guys! You are building crappy cars!!!"...ohh and by the way, check these stats next year and Toyota/Lexus will fall in the top ranks "real" easy for this German fanboy review...as for ROSKO...yourself and your comments are as useless as tits on a boar....LMAO!!!

It takes longer than a year to improve stats. there is lots of research and development and numerous changes. just like GM didn't begin their turnaround for the better overnight. and as they continue to bring out newer vehicles the crappy ones will we all laughed at and complained about will be gone....MY gosh did I just say something good about GM??
