i saw that film an iconveniaet truth, it was really good.
in a survey of articles about climate change by scientists, 0% disagreed or had doubts about global warming as truth. however, 46% of mass media articles did.
the medival warmi period experienced nothing like the temperatures we have today, just a small blip on the avergare temp graph. current warming is way above that.

I read your article by ultra-conservative, right-wing Republican from Oklahoma, James Inhofe. There were very few facts in the article, and the ones presented were by a select few scientists that support Inhofe's position. Most of the article is criticism of a political nature, intended to argue his anti-environmental positions.
On environmental issues, Inhofe scores a 100 from the American Land Rights Association (an anti-environment, anti-public spaces, pro-property rights group), and 0's from League of Conservation Voters, American Wildernes Coalition and Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund. He scores an 88 from the John Birch Society, 100 from the Christian Coalition.

So keeping in mind who authored your propagandist piece, it should come as no surprise that he found a few scientists that agreed with his position. You can find anybody to agree to anything when it suits their interests. Jason, you are either so completely politicized by this or naive if you read something like Inhofe's piece and accept it as truth. It is a pure political propaganda.

here are some places to check out for anyone who wants a counterpoint to the Inhofe fiction

"Ice core records show that whenever CO2 has increased in the earth's past, so has temperature. In the last century atmospheric CO2 has risen steadily, and unnaturally, to above 370 parts per million, the highest level in more than 650,000 years. "
http://www.worldviewofglobalwarming.org/
check out their references and links within the site.

And as for, "Buy the car you want," why not litter if you want, dump waste in the lakes and oceans if you want, throw away paint, pesticides and toxins if you want. Why not rob from your neighbors or kill your competitors down the street if you want. Why have any conncern for others, for our neighbors, our children, our future generations, our fellow inhabitants of this earth. Why not just live this life only in your own self-interest, without any other cares in this world. Me, Me, Me, Mine, Mine, Mine. Seems to me that's what you're advocating.

i like the fact hat toyotamarc actually HAS a conscience.
it is the me generation, i should know, i'm part of it.
doesn't stop me from shouting at hummers or mothers who are giving their babies sweets and fizzy drinks.

other suvs i don't mind, but seriously, you have to be thick to drive the hummer.
and yes, we have the highest co2 records ever. and also the highest temperatures. the top ten highest temps all occured in the last 14 years. there was a drought in england (hosepipe ban!). also in europe.
apparently forest fires a huge cause of co2 and golabal warming, in places like african congo, amazon and china. SAVE THE TREES!

btw america is the biggest polluter in the world (1/2 population of europe, 2x polluting), and the govnt's excuse about not raising mpg standards is that china would come in and take the market.
china has higher mpg standards. the usa has the lowest in the developed world, japan highest, about to be overtaken by the eu.
DO SOMETHING AMERICA, don't be lazy.

i am now 1970toyotamarc's biggest fan :D

Be careful 1970, your intelligent words maybe waisted on us car nuts. Seriously, I do agree with what your saying. Lets say for a moment that we are wrong and there isn't any global warming, what's the worst that would happen, we would have cleaner air, cleaner land, etc., that would be just terrible. Anyway, enough of this, fast powerful luxurious cars are awesome, if we could only make them cleaner and more efficient.

further, loss of forests (which absorb and recycle co2, retain water runoff, recycle moisture to atmosphere, etc.) could lead to DOWNWARD SPIRAL of environmental degradation. think DESERTFICATION.

recent news: the tundra in siberia is warming, permafrost is thawing, and releasing METHANE-- a greenhouse gas WORSE than co2-- far faster than calculated or anticipated.

even if we completely CEASE burning carbon fuels (most UNlikely), the process of warming will continue, and likely also continue to ACCELERATE.

we may be approaching the POINT OF NO RETURN. (if we haven't already!)

land rover is going to start a program of offsetting CO2 emissions by planting trees. that will show those evil people who slash tires. (they are evil as well, why ruin someone's pride and joy?)

and the methane thing scared me too.
