Hardly. The TT has over 58% (by weight) aluminium construction, which obviously the Golf does not have. They share engines, gearboxes and a few underneath bits.

exactly a can run well over 40grand shares all of its EXPENSIVE parts with a car you can pick up for 15 grand down at your local VW store...what a crock

All that was done i think was replacing the clutch plates with stronger units.
