Has The Mercedes S63 AMG Knocked The Lexus LS460 Off The Top Rung?
The S-Class, renowned for luxurious technology in Mercedes flagship sedans, and AMG, the German word for uberhot rod, have created a vehicle with more science than the first U.S. moon landing and more pampering than a five-star resort.

The S63 AMG will rub your back, cradle you in fast turns, blow the doors off anyone next to you at a light and handle all of those tedious driving things like monitoring your speed and dialing your cell phone. Normal people use pedals to accelerate and brake; S63 drivers flick one switch and let the car do the work. Sit back and enjoy the ride, Mein Herr.

While the Lexus LS 460 will give a massage to the executive in the second row, this Mercedes lavishes the driver and front seat passenger. And if you have this car, the only place you want to sit is behind the steering wheel.

On luxury features, they compare rather well...

I, personally, feel that 'back-messaging' driver's seats are a bit of a safety issue, as I don't want anyone driving me around to be quite THAT RELAXED!

First they try to compare a GT-R to an IS-f, and now this all in the same day.
Why not compare an M3 to the C200 next?

The Lexus is not in the same league as the Benz.. not even close.

How do you compare a car that starts at 64K to a car that starts at 126K?

DaHarder, don't be worried, cos the Lexus will be watching you and it will beep if you are too relaxed and closed your eyes, not really.

Regarding the question, S63 presence factor alone, is enough to tear the LS460 apart.

They should compare the S550 to the LS460. Not the S63, which is a special version of the S class with a more sporting nature.

why even bother arguing...the comparisons are unjust.

LS600hL vs s600 V12 MB
LS460L vs s500 V8 MB

if lexus ever decides to compete in a segment as the S63 AMG or the Alpina B7, they would introduce an LS-F (?)

common sense will produce legitimate comparisons.

Another (dohh) for 009!!!

S63 vs. LS460? There's no comparison there, on any level other than the overall class size they compete in.

Regarding performance, engine, etc. it's like comparing a Nissan Altima with an M5.

This was an inaccurate re-branding of a great MB-related article.

I would compare the LS460 with the Ford Taurus.

I would compare the LS600 with the Buick Lucerne.

Lexus has yet to build a car that can be compared with a Nercedes Benz.

In fact, the Jaguar XJ8 was rated higher, but nobody wants you to know that... (-;

1. I didn't know the LS460 was on "the top rung" in the first place.

2. The S63 AMG and LS460 do not compete. I don't care if you didn't come up with this comparison, 009-- why put it in the title???

BTW, CL63 FTW.

Perhaps they are referring to the "top rung" of a footstool.

I think a better comparison would be LS vs. Acura RL, Infiniti M45, or Cadillac DTS.

Wow, my Jeep can accelerate without using the gas pedal too. Chrysler calls it the acceleration button located on the steering wheel.

Still prefer the LS but this car does have one serious thing better than the LS, it's friggin' fast! Then again, a twin turbo V12 better be.

Has the S63 knocked the LS460 off? What? The S550 did that already. The S63 stomps a mutthole in the LS460 and LS600 quite easily. Please the question is self answering.

S4,
Thanks for the correction. I just assumed every Benz with a 6 in its name used the V12.

I really question if the S550 ever beat the LS460 by a large margin, or if it ever did beat it.
