American Honda has gone to extraordinary lengths to track down owners of 6.3 million Honda and Acura vehicles equipped with potentially deadly airbags. They’ve issued multiple recall notices in English and Spanish, doubled their customer service phone banks, and plastered safety warnings on the back of semi-trucks barreling down the highway. They’ve even hired private investigators to contact hard-to-find owners whose vehicle registration information is out of date.

Nothing has brought more worried car owners back to dealerships for repairs, however, than the targeted, sponsored posts Honda has placed on the Facebook pages of individual Honda owners.
