As we reported to you the other day, the very first shots of the newly revamped 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class found their way online thanks to the three-pointed star.

For us, as the originator of the four-door coupe phenomena, this is a big deal.

There's just one little thing I noticed the more I looked at the all-new set of photos. The CLS is lacking its truly unique look now.

For me, I see this as a problem. One of the biggest draws to the CLS was that it didn't look like a Mercedes. Now, to me, it looks like a stretched and blended CLA-Class and E-Class. If you look closely at the front grille and front valence on the standard car and the sport package equipped model, these two details appear to take a lot of creative license from the CLA and E.

Thankfully, its side profile is still dramatic in part due to the highly exaggerated rear fenders and sloping roofline, and its rear end remains unique due to its taillights.

BUT, the more I look at the refreshed CLS I still believe the original luster that appeared in the first-gen CLS has been lost in a big way. What say YOU? Am I onto something?
