Is This What The New BMW 3-Series Should Look Like?

Looks like a facelifted current model. Only thing different is the front-end design. Or is it just me?

Not a bad design. Is it just me, or do I notice the influence of Walter da Silva's work for Audi? Those character lines on the side remind me of the Audi A4. The larger twin-kidney grill seems to indicat that
BMW is aping the gaping-large-mouth-bass Audi grill.

The greenhouse appears to have a more abrupt slope than in the current sedan. However, that would mean more headroom, and I'm all for that! (I'm a bit on the tall side.)

Nice feeling this photoshop job. I feel like the headlights are far too big for the car.

Just looks like a facelifted E90.. and not a good photoshop of the rear-seat/door section :D .. going by all the rumors - BMW is looking to get the car better aerodynamically - this design would still probably have the same .30 cd as the current one.. but the grill looks cool.. agree with HSCenterconsole - headlights are too big for this size car..

No. I don't think it's a big enough departure. Every 6 years or so manufacturers go through a design shift, and that doesn't look like on. This looks more like a refreshed current gen.

Noooooo! Who wants a 7-series-inspired face on a 3? Even BMW is smart enough to play it safe with its "bread 'n butter" 3-series by leaving their "bold styling language" to the 7s and 5s. The BMW 3 series is amongst the better looking BMWs by sheer virtue of having "less spam" in it, relatively speaking.

Way to much blending of the grille into the front. I like the Chrome divides and separation instead of this tucked inside propeller plan style nose.

The front end looks squashed compared to the rest of the car, and the HUGE bug eye headlights are not helping. I like the small clean and precise lamps they use. This just looks like they took lights that are more fitting to the X5.

In stark contrast to the designs of the past few ears, future automotive design will trend toward much smaller headlamps. The headlamps on this rendering are simply too large and backward thinking to appear on the next 3-series. Expect just the opposite. The grille however, looks just about right.

+ to MBCLS07. Took the words out of my mouth. They did this to the Honda Pilot as well. It had a nice projetor style lamp, modern and classy. The new Pilot has a HUGE round bug-eye lamp that is reminiscent of the last generation Toyota Tundra.

I would think they would be going forwards. Maybe they need the room for the thicker angel eyes or some new kind of LED trickery on the lamps where the rest of the assembly glows a soft color around the HID. But it's only an option and you have to pay $700 for the HID setup anyways on a Bimmer. Can't wait to see what they are making for the rice boys to copy now.

I do however get a good laugh at people in luxury cars BMW, MB, Audi, etc. who pull up in their 40k plus cars with standard $20 halogen bulbs. HAHA, man up and get the HID kit, old folks driving these cars need the additional light.
