I know you're tired of hearing it from us but it's REALLY true when we tell you that MOST car outlets (outside of us and a few websites) hold back the REAL truth from you in their automotive coverage.

So we always find it refreshing when we actually see an OPINION somewhere else hoping that at SOME point others will have the guts to follow and DO THE RIGHT THING FOR YOU!

So when we see good stuff we call it out even if it's at a competitors site.

As we told you, Ford and RAM are the big movers right now in trucks with the two best products being offered followed by the new GM pickups (They're OK, but in this game OK is not good enough) and then this next contender...

Our friend Michael Harley from AutoBlog penned this right on assessment of the new (actually not really more than a modest refresh) Toyota Tundra and we think you should read it.

A couple key quotes and then you can click the read article link for the full rundown of this exercise in mediocrity...

"Toyota appears to have ceded to the competition. Stepping away from the hard-fought battle between the Detroit Three, it has chosen the path of least resistance - it will dial back its efforts and build the Tundra in Texas simply to satisfy the 100,000+ faithful Toyota owners who show up to buy one every year.

It's that premeditated, defeatist mindset that bought us this refreshed but half-hearted pickup we drove in Pennsylvania. So you'll have to forgive us for walking away from this Toyota with the same feeling.

The new Tundra was much more competitive than Toyota's previous half-ton (sales peaked at just under 200,000 units in 2007) but the looming economic crisis and loyal American truck buyers caused sales to fall to just 83,000 units four years later."

Who would have thunk it? Toyota in LAST place.
