I don't know about shaping the future of the automotive world directly, but I do think it signals a important movement in the automotive industry that perhaps Jaguar will be at the fore-front of. Perhaps the industry isn't moving in general to this type of thing at all, but Jaguar I do know is...

I would imagine that because cars are going to begin to look similar due to what I view as useless and stupid safety rules for the most part, I think we will see increased brand differentiation in the execution of the system of the car.

The new Jaguar drive system is an excellent example of this. In addition, the proximity sensor arrangement that is due for the XJ is another excellent example. I think we will begin to see more things which are non-typical in cars.
