Jaguar XF Interior A Downer
There was excitement when the world saw how creative and forward thinking the Jaguar's design team with the C-XF, the sports sedan that will replace the ancient S-type. Recently, the air went stale when the discovered how watered down the concept had become to fit into production realities.

wwwhaa! What's that all about? It's hideous! It looks cheap, Japanese and without any inspiration!

NO NO NO Jaguar! BIG mistake!

Oh SHUT-UP! you are just another Lexus admirer. It reminds me of something like a Audi's A8 interior.

Switchgear straight from Lincoln, This is a very sad day for Jaguar.

I don't think it's that much of a disappointment. It looks good to me. I wonder if the interior still has that blue ambient light like in the S-Class though?

No wonder you think it looks good. It looks like it could have come out of any Japanese or Korean car. It actually reminds me a lot of Lexus and Infiniti.. there is NOTHING British in that interior apart from the wood.

I'm genuinely dissappointed.

Kinda Lexus-y, in a way...
I think it's good, Jaguar have finally broken with tradition and made an interior that looks like it belongs to this century.
Where's the gear lever? Is it just small?

The some parts of the interior look like they came from the Audi A8 (my daily driver for the past 4 years) but then worse.

That is crappy.

I guess owners will have to burn their own wood trim now.

For me, the interior is what really made the concept so impressive.

Poop.

To me, the exterior design is where I want them to hit the mark dead on with the concept. Looking at the concepts interior, I could tell right away that it was show car only and too good to be true...

Very old pic but its what we figured the interior would look like. A modern version with wood and leather. Not great but not bad. I don't like that whole satin nickel thing that Ford products are using now though.

yeah this an old picture, i posted it on here months ago....but i think it looks like what should go in the new lincoln sedan not a jaguar the big pieces of wood on the door, the large chrome door handles, the silver finish on the dash those are all interior styling cues of current lincolns if jaguar gets this car wrong, with basically every car in this segment being very competitive, and few short comings.....they will waste a huge chance to get out of their rut, because a few of the cars in this segment will be redesighned in 1-3 years and than it will look that much worse by comparison

Door handle looks like its straight out of a Land Rover LR3.

I think both the concept and the production interior look bad.

Why am I getting the sense that "It resembles a Japanese/Lexus interior" is supposed to be an insult?

Regardless of whether or not it "looks" British, it looks luxurious, clean and elegant. End of story. Who cares if it doesn't "look" British? It kind of reminds me of a Range Rover/Audi A8 interior the way the center console goes up into the dashboard.

As long as the plastics, woods and metals are up to par, I like it.
It looks better than the 5, but it does look Lexusy with a splash of Lincoln materials.
At least it looks modern.

"It resembles a Japanese/Lexus interior" is supposed to be an insult?"

Because those interiors are bland and cheap looking, using styling cues from other (mostly German) premium brands. Nowadays things are changing a bit with Lexus, Toyota, Acura, ..etc all trying to implement their own design philosophy.

But you can't just erase or ignore 75 years or rubbish interiors.

I think it looks fine, the title of the thread leads you to believe it's some abhorrent design and it's not at all. Were people really expecting that blue neon concept interior? Concept interiors always look like that. Real car interiors never do. This isn't Star Wars or Minority Report.

The XF needs to be flash and have lots of traditional British luxury amenities in it. It's trying to fit with the XK interior with modern looks but it's not working for Jaguar. The only British luxury maker that went somewhat contemporary was Bentley. In the Rolls Royces you still see much of the old RR looks.

Well I'll wait till I see one then I'll make my final decision.

I usually try to refrain from personal attacks but whoever said this interior is okay for a vehicle which is suppossed to replace the current Jaguar S-Type is a moron and most definately not the target consumer this vehicle is aimed at.

There is nothing Nice about that Interior, There is nothing Elegant about that interior and those are 2 very important features for any Jaguar.

Also other than a Cheap & very badly attempted copy of the Hvac control layout of the A8 in this vehicle there is no look of quality materials in this car.

This interior is Rubbish Squared (Rubbish * Rubbish)

I am really waiting to weigh in, if you will, on the interior until I can actually see the entire thing, and its options. The one thing I do know about Jaguar is that they truly believe in beauty through simplicity, which translates usually into dash structures that have an over-riding design in which all of the other items are housed- such a thing would be difficult to see in images such as this one.

Furthermore, one really needs to keep in mind what this vehicle is to compete with. It will be only one with a stitched leather dash in its class. Keeping such things in mind puts the picture into perspective and I dare say a rather flattering light.

This is a total conspiracy. Nonsense claims like this are the real responsible reasons for jaguars downfall. The opposition companies started spreading the word that jaguars are retro, and this word spread from one tongue to the other and that is how the notion that jaguar is retro became established. It is very clear that opposition auto companies (German and japanese) want to seal the coffin onto jaguars efforts by again trying to spread this rubbish talks about even the new XF being outdated. Actually truth be told, these opposition are spreading such words because they see the new XF as a worthy competitor to their offering for this segment of model line up, and that is why they are trying to give XF a bad reputaion even before journalists and buyers get a real look at the production car. This is utterly pathetic and disgusting. Think about the new BMW CS, i don't see anybody making a post about the fact that the interior shown in that car is never going to show up in the production version, and that production interior designs are completely different from the radical designs of the concepts. This is an all out conspiratory attack on jaguar so that the company can never rise back to its laurel and become a company in the same league as MERC, BMW, AUDI, and LEXUS. Don't worry Jaguar, the enthusiasts of the XF are not going to be put off by this type of foul and disdainful manipulation of information transmission through blogging, WE ALL LOVE THE CXF, and THE XF SEEMS TO BE SHAPING UP TO HAVE THE PERFECT BLEND OF AGGRESIION AND CLASSY BUT NOT OSTENTATIOUS DESIGNING.

I would also like to add that personally I don't see anything Lexus-like about it. In fact as far as structure is concerned, I would say the XK interior is far more Lexus like.

As far as it not being "English", I challenge you to look at the XK120 and the '68 XJ- particularly the latter. Large material bands into which the center console plugs- as opposed to the current XJ where the interface between the two dominates the structure to some extent - is a decades old Jaguar theme. This has simply been modernized.

I personally don't like the aluminium band, but I would imagine [hope] that there is an option to deal with that.

the interior is a little bit of a let down...but give them a break, they've been doing practically the same interiors for years. they'll get it right. coodos to jaguar. the door handle is definitely from a ford expedition. if they would just up the material grades and make the gapes tighter it would be up to par. BTW-please know what you are talking about before you comment. for example...will, the s-class, thats a Mercedes you retard. the model its replacing is the s-type.
