At the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, it seems to me that one manufacturer was out to make a statement but it probably wasn't who you thought it would be. Nope, it wasn't one of the larger guys.It was Jaguar. And the more I look at the photos Agent 001 submitted, it seems to me that Jaguar has nearly completed its transformation to battle the likes of the Germans and high-end Japanese competition. Perhaps the British marque will now position itself as something aside from an "also ran," which has been an ongoing problem. But earlier this year when I had the chance to drive the Jaguar XJ Super Sport, I have to say it feels miles ahead of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Maserati Quattroporte and I would tell anyone looking at a Porsche Panamera to give it a test drive. I have to say the reinvention of this legendary brand has itself been pretty outrageous to watch. That's because it seems to have breathed some life into this stodgy company. Think of Jaguar 10 years ago. Has Jaguar rounded the corner relative to that?Full Official LA Auto Show Photo GalleryDid YOU check out this year's Black Friday gift guide care of AutoSpies? Jaguar has made a metamorphosis, but not keeping its style. The new Jags are getting more and more exchangeable with Lexus, Audi and are screaming in your face, instead of soothing your senses as they used to. The XF and XJ shout Ford still. It was clear Jaguar had to evolve, but this is throwing away your old shoes before knowing that the new ones fit well. They have lost style, ride comfort and especially the sporty variants give the impression of cheap bodystyle tuning kits. These are not "kittens" buth kitch cars to me.— Boomslui (View Profile)
