If there's one all-new entry-level vehicle that's been gaining a lot of attention recently, it would have to be the Mazda 3.

It wasn't too long ago that it was found in an automotive industry report by a big bank — it looked like a rendering to us — and now it's appearing again. Claiming to be a leak in an Asian magazine — what kind of characters are those (?) — the design doesn't appear to be too far off what's been predicted as of late. A large front grille makes an appearance as do swept back headlights. Much like the current-gen Mazda 3, the front fenders are large and in charge.

Seen in hatchback form, its rear hind quarters look a bit too similar to the Mitsubishi Lancer hatch for our taste but overall its a much more compelling design for entry-level buyers.

If I were a betting man, I'd say that this is another hopeful rendering that mixes elements of the current Mazda 3 with the front end of the all-new Mazda 6. If I am wrong I guess I'll have to eat some crow but something just isn't right with this image.

We’ve already seen the new Mazda 3 in design drawings and spy pictures, but now a Japanese magazine appears to have leaked the first official pictures of the Volkswagen Golf-rivalling hatchback.
