Lamborghini SUV prototype
Lamborghini could have a successor to the original LM002 if the prototype in these latest spy shots turns out to be the latest test-mule from the Italian supercar manufacturer. Although the prototype is dressed in the sheetmetal of a Porsche Cayenne, the widened fenders and lowered front-end suggests that this is no ordinary SUV. Read Article

can someone please explain to me how the VW group works. If audi owns Lambo, and audi is owned by VW, which also owns porsche, why would audi want to have lambo come out with a car that will compete with porsche? thats like saying GM wants its CTS to compete with a Saturn.

Porsche actually owns VW. This Lamborghini wouldn't compete with the Cayenne Turbo- it would be significantly faster and more expensive. But I still see no point to it! The LM failed, so this would, too!

This is in response to indifferent...Just wanted to set you straight on the whole volkswagen owning porsche issue. Porsche is an independently (family) owned business/corporation and is not owned by any other manufacturer. Recently however Porsche has purchased a 30% share of the Volkswagen group. So in actuality you could say Porsche owns Volkswagen. Now with all the Porsche family members on the Volkswagen board and quite a few other corporations it does get a little convoluted, but the bottom line is that Porsche is an independent manufacturer. There is a great article about it in the latest "Excellence" magazine if you want to learn more.

This would be stupid. The idea of a Bentley or Lambo SUV is just idiotic. The Cayenne is pushing it, but I can see the point there... the raging bull and winged-B are just too prestigious to have this dilute their lineups.

And a Gallardo V8? Audi has a say in Lamborghini's products, and the Gallardo V8 would compete directly with the R8 4.2.

Then again, I guess the same is true of an R8 V10 competing with the current Gallardo, so whatever.
