As I just produced the last BMW 2-Series Active Tourer story, I realized by the time I was done inserting the images that there were no interior shots. Well, fear not, Spies.

Here you are.

Though BMW will likely say it's starting a new segment with Active Tourers, I'll skip the Marketing speak and call it what it really is — an MPV. Essentially it's a minivan with a proper door and not a slider.

These vehicles tend to be known for their versatility and spaciousness. From the studio shots it appears to have the space element down but I am not entirely convinced about how much utility one can actually get out of it. Obviously I'll have to wait and see in the flesh but it doesn't look like that rear cargo hold is any bigger than a Volkswagen Golf.

Then again, what is this really competing against? The Mercedes-Benz B-Class or GLA-Class? Both of those products are teeny.

Anyhow, scroll through the shots below and let us know your thoughts! Does it appear to have enough utility and space for an MPV?
