I am not sure about you, Spies, but for me one of the highlights of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) was the all-new Lexus LC 500. Seen in production trim for the very first time, to me, it is showing that Lexus continues to move in its own direction.

It easily could have built a vehicle that squares up with the BMW 6-Series or Mercedes-Benz S550 Coupe but it appears that it's going for something more along the lines of the Jaguar F-Type.

If you take a look at the way this vehicle sits, in addition to its engine that's mounted as close to the firewall as possible, it's clear this isn't your ordinary grand touring coupe.

While we've shown you the exterior end-to-end, we think it's time that you get a gander of what's going on inside. Tastefully spec'd with a dark tan interior, it's clear that this intimate cabin takes creative license from the LFA. Check out its instrument panel and the overall dashboard. It screams "LFA!"

Elsewhere around the cabin you'll note some GS F cues with how the LC 500 makes use of stitching, Alcantara and leather bits. Bonus props to Lexus for the use of what appears to be real metal — though we cannot be certain as we were not allowed to touch and feel around.

Is there anything catching YOUR eye, Spies?
