You may recall not too long ago that Kia and the NBA have become closely linked together. For me, the first recollection of some convenient product marketing was during one of the NBA All-Star weekend activities. The then all-new Kia Optima was rolled out, and if my memory serves me right, Blake Griffin jumped over it to slam one home.

Not too long after that, Griffin was featured in a couple spots for the Korean automaker.

In the past 12 months though, Kia has pulled out all the stops. That's because it's been associating the poor selling K900 with the likes of Lebron James — arguably the game's biggest star. While we've seen a spot or two, now the company is going balls to the wall.

That's because it appears that the K900 will have a special variant known as the King James Edition. No, I am not joking. This isn't the first time we've seen a peculiar partnership — remember the Ford tie up with Funkmaster Flex — but we're not sure if this will give the K900 the juice it needs to compete with the big boys.

Teasing only the front "gills" it's clear the vehicle will be red and adorned with black trim bits on its exterior. What else is in store is beyond us, however, we're thinking it's a safe bet you'll see the following:

- Red paint;
- Blacked-out exterior trim;
- Black large diameter wheels;
- Red brake calipers;
- Custom front grille inserts;
- Lowered stance; and,
- A two-tone interior
