NEW OVERFINCH: RANGE ROVER SUPERSPORT
12 September 2005

New from Overfinch of Great Britain, the only company with a 30 year proven track record of Range Rover enhancement, is the sensational 5.0 litre 500 bhp (370 Kw) SuperSport engine, exhaust, aerostyling and wheel package, delivering Cayenne Turbo levels of acceleration in the most desirable premium 4 x 4 of 2005/6.?
Engine and Exhaust?
• 4.2 litre supercharged engine bored and stroked to 5.0 litres
• Custom made high strength EN40B steel crankshaft
• Custom made high strength 4032 forged pistons
• Custom made high strength shot peened steel connecting rods
• Custom made cast iron cylinder liners
• Uprated exchange supercharger system
• Modified ports, cylinder heads and intake ducting
• New engine ECU mapping
• Free flow stainless steel sports exhaust system
• Sports Catalysts
• SuperSport conjoined quad exhaust tails
• Improved cooling and lubrication systems
The engine has been in development by our engineers since it was known which engine the top Range Rover Sport would use back in 2003. Extensive testing and dynometer work has helped create a robust, state of the art, ultra high performance package for this model and its bigger brother the Range Rover.
• Max Power 500 bhp (370 Kw) @ 5750 rpm
• Max Torque 525 lbs/ft (709 Nm) @ 3200 rpm
The Supersport engine package comes complete with a 3 year 60,000 mile (100,000kms) warranty from Overfinch and can be maintained by any Overfinch distributor or Land Rover dealer anywhere in the world.?
SuperSport Aerostyling?
Designed and painstakingly engineered over several months, the new Overfinch styling pack for Range Rover Sport finally puts real meaning into the model name and gives a far more purposeful air to the car. It consists of :-
• SuperSport front spoiler
• SuperSport 6 piece side skirt set
• SuperSport rear 3 piece undertray with built in diffuser
The 10 piece kit is precision manufactured in RIM material and fits over the parking sensors front and rear to give a fully integrated, exceptionally sporty look as befits the car. The 6 side pieces replace the (controversial) originals and the rear apron assembly is designed for either the SuperSport exhaust tail section or the more conventional Large Oval design, (not shown) to be fully integrated. It is made in 3 parts to allow easy access to the spare wheel in an emergency by removal of the centre section. Tow bar compatibility and original recovery eye access are unaffected by the SuperSport styling pack.
We are especially proud of the stylish yet practical result from our experienced team of professional designers and feel it really moves the Range Rover Sport on visually. It is ideally suited to those drivers who want their car to make a stronger, more sporting statement at rest and on the move.?
Tiger 22" Alloy Wheels?
The exclusive styling and design features of the new Overfinch Tiger 22" alloys mean that they are indisputably the ultimate road wheel for the new Range Rover Sport or Range Rover. They incorporate up to the minute 12 spoke styling with stainless steel rim bolts for a sophisticated 2 piece look, plus spoke ‘strikes’ near the centre to emphasise the sheer size of the Tiger wheel.
The wheel is TuV approved and immensely strong, yet light and easy to clean. It has been engineered specifically for Range Rover Sport and 3rd Generation Range Rover and Discovery and is unusual in that it employs O.E. shoulder seat nuts as the only safe method of anchoring wheels to a 2700kg vehicle. With its 22 x 9 inch rim, featuring optimised steering off-set geometry, the traditional problems of extra big wheels are avoided (e.g reduced steering lock, whee arch/suspension fouling, steering kick back, etc) whilst actual steering feel is much improved over all standard wheels.

mstangpny07-

You have bad taste. The RR Sport is the best-looking SUV (besides the Range Rover) on the road. The Cayenne is an ugly duckling.

range rover goes outta their way to make a great suv, and somebody goes outta their way to make that suv a car.....

so why not just get a car in the first place?

because some people don't want a car. what kind of question is that? if they wanted a car they wouldn't be buying a range. its a personal preference

Funny you should say that

The other day i was behind a SuperCharged Range Rover Sport and even though it was Unmodified it rode so low to the ground that i was wondering how it could be any good OffRoad, I remember watching the Top-Gear review of this vehicle so i know it has some OffRoading Skills but you'd be hard pressed to tell that by seeing it's OnRoad Stance

Here isa link to the Review. I think you'll like it.

It does have air-adjustable suspension. From what I hear, the new ranges with non-bmw engines aren't worth the money.

Yes, but it's still an SUV, and it's still oh-so-beautiful and simple. The Range Rover has a classic design, inside and out, that will never stop astonishing me.

I95-

But it has an air-adjustable suspension. It was probably on its lowest setting; it varies about six inches if I'm not mistaken. But who's going to go off-roading in an RR Sport Supercharged, anyway?

s4cabriofox, i wasn't arguing against the range rover. i was just saying this "modification" of the range rover is a joke (although it looks kinda cool).
