That's it for today, folks! Day one of the 2014 New York Auto Show (NYIAS) is in the history books.

With a variety of interesting consumer-oriented products making their global debut today, it's been a more level-headed approach to an auto show. While we're used to seeing the concepts closing in from all angles at the Detroit Auto Show or Frankfurt Motor Show, the New York event is a decidedly different approach in new car launches and debuts.

This is the place you'll want to be if you're in-market and looking to snap up a new set of wheels in the next 24 months.

While I roamed the main level only today, Agent 001 made sure to go below deck to the scariest — and possibly saddest — place on earth, the basement of the Jacob K. Javits Center. Not only will you come across some aftermarket companies displaying your wares, you'll also happen to run into some of the scariest autos ever built. Believe you me, there's more to come later.
