There's absolutely zero question at this point about the Nissan GT-R and its performance credentials. The thing is a monster and the R35 generation will go down in history for setting a mega Nürburgring lap time as well as taking down Porsche in its own backyard.

Any way you want to slice it, Godzilla still makes a helluva case for itself even though it's getting long in the tooth. But, Nissan has made a slew of minor changes to make the 2017 model year GT-R easily the best one yet.

Not only has it received a bump in power that brings the total output from the bi-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 to 565 horsepower and 467 lb.-ft. of torque, it also has upped the vehicle's refinement. Is it a luxury vehicle? Well, I wouldn't go that far just yet, but the good news is that everything's been given a look. Take, for example, the Nappa leather seating, the refined six-speed dual-clutch 'box, the new use of sound insulation techniques — acoustic glass in the windshield — and the much revised cabin.

My favorite change the company has made is the all-new titanium exhaust and while I haven't heard the 2017 GT-R, I've heard plenty of cars after receiving the titanium treatment. Let's put it this way: A car never sounds worse after getting a titanium exhaust. Not to mention the amount of weight saved by making that change.
