In recent years we've been plagued with sports cars, muscle cars, convertibles, sport-utility vehicles and just about anything else you can think of that's pushing some serious horsepower. Just in time for the 2016 New York Auto Show (NYIAS), it's clear that General Motors' Chevrolet division is not going to back away from that.

That's because it has revealed details and all-new images of its brand spankin' new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

For those of you not in the loop, this is the Camaro that has the most power. That's because it will borrow the mill from the C7 Z06, which means it will produce a staggering 640 horsepower and 640 lb.-ft. of torque. It doesn't get much more ridiculous than that.

Paired up with this engine is a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic.

As expected, the ZL1 has a better equipped interior than what you usually get from an all-new Camaro. See the more bolstered, Recaro seats and Alcantara bits. This is a step in the right direction.

Expect for the ZL1 to hit showrooms by the end of 2016.
