New Camaro Interior Shots
Despite "Maximum" Bob Lutz pulling the skirt up and over the head of the exterior of the new Camaro, we've yet to see any official shots of the interior. And that last set of interior spy photos of the 2009 Chevy Camaro we saw were -- how shall we say this -- a bit tarp-covered? While this new set of the new mullet-mobile from down under is lacking in camouflage and plastic sheeting, it more than makes up for it in Cloverfield-like motion blur. Note to camera phone owners -- please stand perfectly still when taking shots. Trust us, it helps. But even bearing in mind the fuzzy-wuzzy nature of the shots -- these shots do get us a little more up-close and personal with the new muscle car from the General's budget-brand. We can clearly see the four indicator gauges on the center stack -- one each for "torque," battery voltage, oil pressure and oil temperature. While we know this is still a pre-production interior and we're hoping the General will be updating much of the materials we see being used (as well as those stock Holden seats), we believe this is the final direction for the overall interior layout. Given that, we have to admit the instrument cluster looks mighty scary to us -- like some kind of alien beast staring out from the dashboard. True this alien beast seems to have a steering wheel with the new Camaro logo for a mouth, but who are we to judge, right? (Big tip of the hat to Marcin!)

That is one of the coolest new interiors I've seen in a long time. The right amount of nostalgia with the the right amount of modern twist with a clear design scheme.

The interior looks a bit busy. Almost reminds me of the new Nissan GT-R in terms of presentation... not a good thing IMO.

However, it's still light years better then the current Mustang's interior and the upcoming Challenger's which looks like it could've been lifted from any mid-size Japanese car from the mid-90s.

At least this is somewhat true to the concept and shows us that the new GM isn't just using existing knobs and switches from the parts bin with this car.

My first thought was Nissan GT-R as well when I saw the interior.

I couldn't tell you which classic car this dash looks like, but what it really reminds me of is an oldstyle AM radio. I don't know why, but the interior gives me a fuzzy feeling. Looks very good!

Good to see that you are judging this car fairly so people can rely on your opinion the next time you comment.

It always amazing how some people and sometimes Consumer Reports have the ability to be and expert on grading plastic just by looking at them (always cheap) .even more amazing is their ability to grade them by looking at a photo

Well-it looks a little better then the first original shots. Not quite as plasticky. GM could still do better as in (Malibu).

While the new Malibu interior is really nice, IMO, the Camaro does look to be of better quality (eg. knobs and center console panels).

I am sure you can say whatever it is you are trying to say about the appearance of this car without sounding convoluted.

So? I like it and it seems that most here like it too.

I think it matters where these people who apparently form a majority are posting that don't like it. I could go over to that forum and tell them that people on autospies like it so therefore they should bow down to my superior opinion.

"Oh, in case I forget, this interior is without doubt one of the very ugliest car interiors that I've ever seen, and it does occur to me that it may well be part of the explanation for why this car was delayed. The only mystery to me is why the same thought did not occur to you."

Yet you feel the need to state that "everybody has an opinion" and you should not oppress others whose opinion differs from your own?

By the way, where do you get off thinking that just because a left-field tangential thought occurred to you, it means that it should obviously occur to me? Not everybody is reading your convoluted mind, "dude". A car being developed for a couple of years is hardly the kind of thing that leads you to believe that the interior is inherently ugly. I would hate to be the gerbil in your brain that is forced to perform these wayward, fuzzy-logic, thought processes for you.

i understand they are using interior design features from the first and last camaros, but the center control stack is just plain ugly and the 2 pods were covered by a side to side dashboard hood.

Not bad. But then again, the Mustang will be its chief rival, so in that regard I wasn't really expecting anything spectacular.

hideous. Looks like it is from the 70'zzzzzzz. What's up with that monster e-brake lever. I thought those went out in the 80s.

This is pretty ugly, judging by the pictures. Hopefully my opinion will change when I see it in person. By the way, does everyone think the GT-R's interior is ugly??..I like it and it seems I'm alone on this haha

I looked, so maybe I'm a hypocrite for saying this... but this isn't even close to the real interior... obviously its goin to look much different once it comes out. Some of the stuff will stay like the wheel and some stuff on the dash, but come on, there's no way that THAT is making it to production. Let's be real people. Lets not just overboard yet.

When I first saw this interior I thought it was from a minivan. That's going to hurt the Camaro sales unless the folks who buy it have extremely bad taste.
