Nice SpyShot of the next BMW 7-Series
My German friend has been busy emailing me some cool shots of future BMW's.

He tells me this is what they're all buzzing about regarding the next 7-Series.

Obviously, it has lots of cues from the CS Concept Auto Spies showed in their Frankfurt gallery.

This is not newsworthy post and your article picture is the same pic as the 7 series concept CS. Where are the rest of the pictures?

I sure hope it looks like this...
The CS front end is outrageously bold and beautiful...very reminiscent of the Rapide but still distinctly BMW with the bean grill...
Also, I like how the grill is so bold.
Seems like everyone is going this direction...
Audi really took the reigns on this one and I am glad to see everyone following in that footstep (i.e. mercedes with its new concept F)

whether it's real or not may be in question, but it's certainly beautiful. let's hope this is what's coming...

I feel like the current 7 Series still looks awkward (I thought it did at first, then I thought it looked good, now I think it's bad again), so this is an improvement. I just don't feel like the big BMW will ever be a class-leader if Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Lexus still put so much time into redesigning/updating their models.

I completely disagree...I think the cs concept is extremely elegant but also very aggressive which is where cars are headed. The lines are strong yet refined.

now that i look at this rending again, it reminds me of the 2001 BMW 740iL.

I think this is a photoshopped pic of the CS front-end grafted onto a example of the new 7 series side view.
I hope this design never sees the light of day.
The BMW honchos would never produce a 7 series with this horrendous design.
At least I hope not!

It's me again. Having said that I think it's a great design, from what I've been seeing around the web, the next 7 series will be more a evolutionary design of the current car, than a revolutionary one. I hope I'm wrong.

quattrope/ aston martin anyone? people are blind if they cant see the obvious styling cues from the aston martins. even the flares on the front and rear sides of the x6 hybrid look identical to the dbs along with the taillights.

its a great design. the cs will bring bmw make to its prestige.

thats a good looking ps. the corner lights are outdated though; it needs leds. its got the old e46 bumper on the cs body with a lexus front and rear end in shape and aston lights.

Wow, they both have FLARES. That doesn't mean they look similar! It means they both use classy bodykits! The DBS and X6 are both very hot cars, but they just can't be compared. The DBS is just the granddaddy of sex on wheels for 2008.

bmw is attempting to become a sportcar maker venturing into the sedan market like ferrari, porsche and aston while it should currently stick to a sedan maker venturing into the sports car market which it has been so successful at and built its reputation on.

benz is sticking to first building a nice sedan like the s class, then having its racing department, amg, sharpen its sportiness.

the transition for bmw as shown during the current line has been... a rocky one and its success is arguable. how much criticism did the last gen by bmw take? hardly any.

Success is "arguable?" Oh, really? Facts are facts, and BMW only got to the top because of the changes they've made. They don't have record sales for no reason at all.

HIDEOUS why does BMW want us to look up their nostrils? It looks so unrefined, they can't copy MB's enlarged grills because it looks like nostrils on a nose that looks turned up and CHEAP Whole thing, to the trash now.

Looks like the current 7 with the Concept CS front end. Looks a bit unresolved in this photoshop but if they're incorporating some of the CS design then thats a thumbs up from me.

I think this looks amazing. There are shades of Rapide in its body, but that's a compliment- if you could have one car to copy from...

The current 7 Series is looking outdated, and seems more cheaply built than the updated 5 Series at this point. The design was revolutionary in 2001, but it aged quickly. Time for something fresh!

BTW, if it does look like this, the car won't age. It's a very timeless, beautiful design. You couldn't really say that about any other 7 Series- the previous-gen (740/750) was a classic, but it wasn't beautiful, it was just something like a tailored suit.

The CS concept's cues should definitely be used soon. It gives BMW a new, very distinctive look.

Yes, I agree this shot is defintely photoshopped, the recent pics of the 7 being tested in the desert was almost completely camo'd but it still didn't look like this !
If they did follow these design lines I beleive they would attract younger buyers to this model which is needed. the 7 is the best driving/handling vehicle in its class, but it sometimes loses buyers due to its bland styling.

Only worth getting if it is available with the aluminum-block in-line 6 engine that has cast iron cylinder liners. I don't trust those brittle silicon impregnated V-8 engine blocks that BMW has been using witout the iron liners.
